Strand B, Session 4: Universal Design of Instructional Materials: The NIMAS Initiative
|
| Abstract: |
This session will present an overview of the NIMAS initiative, including a summary of regulations for State and Local Education Agencies, and how NIMAS supports the universal design of instructional materials. The anticipated impact of NIMAS will be explored within the context of classroom scenarios – with the explicit goal of increasing achievement of all students through the use of accessible, specialized format instructional materials and from the perspectives of state and local educators and parents. This panel presentation will address the most commonly asked questions about NIMAS and will also provide an overview of NIMAS-related resources for local implementation. During this session both NIMAS-related challenges and opportunities will be addressed. (3638)
